Four Ways to Keep Stress From Stinking up the Holidays

The holidays are a blast, but with so much going on, and so much to do, it is easy to get stressed out. It seems like there is another holiday party or potluck every week, for which you need to find a recipe. Not to mention keeping up with something to wear to the cocktail and ugly sweater parties. Beat the holiday stress, and enjoy the most wonderful time of year with these four StinkBOSS tips.

1. Plan

Sit down with a calendar, or planner and figure out what you have going on and when. Make sure you write it all down, so nothing falls off your radar. Once you have all of your events laid out in front of you, you can take stock of what you need to get done. Once you know what you need to do, you can make a plan for yourself. While you are making your schedule, don't forget to make some time for your favorite parts of the season. For example, I have books that I read this time every year and look for times in my schedule where I can sit back with a book for a bit, and just enjoy it.

2. Lists

There are so many things to juggle this time of year; lists can help you to keep track of what you still need to get/do and what you have already completed. Whether your list includes sending cards and putting up decorations or buying presents and groceries for all those tasty treats. A couple of lists can help you keep track of it all. Make sure to strike through, mark with and X or check off each item as you do it.

3. Meditate

One of the best ways to beat stress is to relax and clear your mind. Take just a few minutes (whenever you need them) to close your eyes, takes some deep breaths and relax your body and mind. If you, like me, have trouble clearing your head, focus on something that relaxes you, or makes you happy. This time of year is meant to be joyful, if you find yourself stressed out, take a step back and find your joy.

4. Exercise

Perhaps my favorite stress reliever. Get active, when you force your mind to focus on pushing your body, not only does it distract from stress, it also gives you a burst of endorphin's, which help you to feel less stressed, happier. Getting in your daily workout will also combat any stress related to eating extra while celebrating the holidays. Whether you are a yogi, a runner, a lifter, get active to keep your stress levels down.

If stress sweat is stinking up your holiday, toss your sweaty gear in the StinkBOSS dryer and deodorizer to defeat the stink.
