Chicago Cubs Win a World Series for the History Books
After a 108 year drought, the Chicago Cubs won the World Series! For the second year in a row, baseball season entered November with Game 7 of the World Series between the Chicago Cubs and the Cleveland Indians. When we last covered baseball standings in our post- Baseball Season is in Full Swing on June 19th, each of these teams was sitting at the top of their respective divisions.
The Cubs last won in 1908, the Indians last won in 1948, setting the stage for an epic game 7. In true dramatic fashion, the game went to extra innings, after a rain delay. In the top of the 10th the Cubs scored two runs to take an 8-6 lead, the Indians scored one more run in the bottom of the 10th before the final out.

Game 2: 5-1 Chicago
Game 3: 1-0 Cleveland
Game 4: 7-2 Cleveland
Game 5: 2-3 Chicago
Game 6: 9-3 Chicago
Game 7: 8-7 Chicago

Chicago Cubs:
National League Division Series San Francisco- the Cubs, eliminated the Giants in 4 games, advancing to the NLCS for the second year in a row.
National League Championship Series Los Angeles- the Cubs eliminated the Dodgers in 6 games to move on to their first World Series since 1945.
Cleveland Indians:
American League Division Series Boston- the Indians swept the Red Sox to advance to the ALCS on the first step of their journey to the Series.
American League Championship Series Toronto- the Indians eliminated the Blue Jays in 5 games advancing to the World Series for the first time since 1997.
